Friends of Music presents the Cypress String Quartet

Charlotte, NC - Friends of Music at Queens presents the Cypress String Quartet on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 8:00 pm in the Dana Auditorium, in the E.H Little Fine Arts Center on the Queens University of Charlotte campus (corner Selwyn and Wellesley Avenues)

A special Pre Concert Dinner and lecture is being hosted by Alice and Peter DeVries at 6:30 pm in the Claudia Belk Dining Hall, with dinner Guest Speaker, Maestro James Meena, Executive Director of Opera Carolina. Cost for this dinner is $30.00 and reservations can be made when purchasing concert tickets.

The Cypress String Quartet comprises of members : Cecily Ward (violinist), Tom Stone (violinist), Ethan Filner (violist), Jennifer Kloetzel (cellist)

The ensemble will perform repertoire with an all American flavor including the Samuel Barber, String Quartet Op. 11;
Charles Tomlinson Griffes' Two Sketches on American Indian Themes and Dvorak's String Quartet in F Major, Op. 96 "American."
